Review and how it works
Kantaris Media Player was intended as a completely new player having its roots in code of VLC Videolan client and Bass audio library.
The Video Player has a graphical application interface similar in some aspects to that of Windows Media Player.
Kantaris wants to be a full-featured media player that brings a pleasant and interesting audio and video experience.
Kantaris Media Player was intended as an open-source replacement for Windows Media Player with similar GUI and functions.
Video playback feature is based on Videolan Client (VLC) which allows Kantaris to play almost anything without having to install codecs separately.
It comes with nice skins, interesting audio visualizations, and smooth integration with Last.fm and Apple movies trailers.
Playing DVDs and audio CDs is possible as well.
What is new? Drag and drop support for RAR files and directories containing sound files into the player window.
Opening Rar archives works now.
Mp3 files are recognized as sound files.
Fixed bug that caused an unhandled exception message when skipping to the next track while it is the end of the playlist.
How to install & uninstall Kantaris Media Player - system requirements Nothing special to install, use or uninstall it.
