A.L.A.R.M. acts as a real watchdog for your computer. When someone will try to steal it and unplugs the device from the A/C power connection, the tool will play a loud sound by your choice on its speakers and will not stop unless it is powered again or the workstation is unlocked.
Useful in diverse circumstances for instance but not only when using the laptop in an open area such as university or at work and you have to go for short break elsewhere. Here is ALARM's business. It will be inactive in the system tray until you lock your computer.
It is not 100% safe theft protection, but it is worth to have. Someone will be around to notice what happens.
You are able to use each media file you wish as A.L.A.R.M. comes with option for all major files. An incredibly loud alarm siren is already incorporated.
The tool is free open source released under GPL.
