AudioPlayer was intended as a DirectShow based media player able of playing MP3, MPGA, WAV, MIDI, AU, WMA and ASF audio items but also WPL, ASX, WMX, WAX and M3U playlists. OGG and FLAC support may be added by downloading and installing the codecs from the web site (850 KB).
Further types can be accepted by downloading codecs from free-codecs site but these have not been tested for use.
Volume and file seeking controls give you the possibility to find and listen to the highest parts of the music at a sound level to fit you. A useful mute option brings silence on demand without having to stop the music.
The application also has the computers' health and multi-tasking at heart. Needing as little as 152 KB of hard drive space (or less on a compressed NTFS drive) and typically operating with 50-90% less CPU and with significant less memory requirements than Windows Media Player 10, AudioPlayer aids the users to use their PC resources more efficiently. Its users will be able to minimize AudioPlayer into the system tray eliminating the task bar and providing more space.
Let the friends see what you're listening to by turning on the enhanced MSN Messenger integration, sing along with the favorites by viewing the lyrics, and never miss out on future updates by operating with the incorporated update feature. The application will let the user make and save his private playlists, change the background color independent of the Windows theme, and the use hotkeys to manage the tool without the use of a mouse.
What is new?
- Fixed divide by zero crash when playing zero duration audio items
- Open File(s) remains enabled when a file is open/playing, so you change files without having to pick the close feature first
- The title and artist of the song now appears in the middle part of the status bar instead of the filename
- Language Dll issue fixed where the filter for the Open File(s) dialog box has been missing in some language versions
