BWMeter comes as a handy bandwidth meter, monitor and traffic controller, which measures, shows and controls all traffic to / from the PC or on the network.
BWMeter analyzes the data packets (where they come from, where they go, which port and protocol they use). This makes it possible to distinguish between local and internet traffic for instance.
It may be utilized for traffic control by setting a speed limit for different types of connections or restricting access to individual internet sites.
The application outputs statistics for all PC's in the network, measuring and showing all LAN traffic but also download / upload from the internet. You will be able to define filters which show the transfer with individual internet addresses (e.g. to see how much data you download from the desired news server).
BWMeter is designed for home users to get an overview of how much bandwidth they use, but also tiny to large businesses, where one PC can control the traffic and maintain the statistics of downloaded / uploaded data of all PC's in the network.
The interface is handy to configure and brings a rich set of options and tools for novices but also experts and network administrators.
