HijackThis presents itself as a free instrument, atypical, which will scan the Windows personal computers in order to find settings that were changed by or specific to hijack attempts, spyware, malware or similar unwanted tools.
The output result of the scan is a report log file which highlights the difference between the tested computer and a known as a 100% spyware-free personal computer. Upon analysis of this log file it's possible to decide what's wrong and should be removed.

Note: There are some malware that try to close the program as soon as it is launched. You may override the problem by simply changing the executable's file name, e.g. into Hijack.exe or Hijack This.exe.
