KeePass Password Safe acts as a free, open source, light-weight and user-friendly password manager for Windows and mobile devices.
You are able to store your passwords in highly-encrypted databases, that is able to only be unlocked with one master password and/or a key file.
A database is made up of only one file which may be transferred from one personal computer to another suitably.
The software allows password groups, in which you are able to sort your passwords into.
You are able to drag-n-drop passwords into each other window. The auto-type feature types your login information into other windows on the fly (just press a hot key).
Rapid copying passwords or user names to the Windows clipboard is possible by only double-clicking on the individual field in the password list.
KeePass can import data from different types of formats like CSV, CodeWallet TXT and CounterPanes PwSafe. The password list may be exported to different types of formats (including TXT, HTML, XML and CSV files). The password list can of course also be printed (complete database or only current view).
Searching and sorting the password database is possible.
KeePass ships with a strong random password generator (you can define the possible output characters, length, and so forth.).
The software may be translated into other languages very suitably (over 34 languages are available). It features a plugin framework; numerous plugins provide further functionality like backup tools, network tools, ...; they are present from the KeePass web site.

A key provider API was added (it's now simple to write other key means plugins, like locking to USB device ID, certificates, smart cards, ...).
