Review and how it works
by SoftSpecialist
If you are obsessed with house cleaning and also have a Mac computer, this program might be of interest. You will surely want to keep its and, by consequence your hard disk not overcrowded or polluted with dirty bytes or files that maybe were useful at a time in the past but now their glory is history.
This little program simply called MacCleaning or newer, CleanGenius, will live in the background monitoring the free space available in real time. When the free space reached a critical low level, it will shout at you "it's cleaning time!". Just press a button and get the hard drive back for your new applications, movies or photos. No dirty hands, no hassle, no worries.
If you want some further technical details, you must know that, by default, it can empty the Trash, and delete the files residing in the Downloads folder. If you want more, go to Preferences and select system and user logs and caches. Someones will say it's too little, others will say it's great - it depends on how much space you need and how much you like to clean your house.
The pros Some other more advanced and more comprehensive functions will be welcome in order to become that kind of tool that is indispensable.
How to install & uninstall MacCleaning - system requirements The program works on any Mac OS X release newer than Snow Leopard (i.e. 10.6).
