The Palette - Melody Composing Tool acts as a tool useful in the trial of writing 'theoretically correct' melodies.

The tool implements more than twenty methods of motive development: variation and inversion; repetition, sequence, new rhythm and so forth. These methods' meanings may be easily understood if viewed as visual effects found in graphical editors.
The Palette will provide hints with the 'theoretically correct' way the music should be produced. The things start by analyzing a given part of a song (a motive or phrase), then it applies the standard methods of motive development (for example, variation) and a better new motive or phrase is given.
The melody composition software knows which are the most popular triads and sevenths of the key.
The tool can represent the chords in four-voice form. The voices could be soprano, alto, tenor or bass. Each chord can have lots of arrangement choices: each chord note may be put in the first position of the arrangement, adjacently (tight arrangement) or even remotely (known as wide arrangement).
The Palette has the capability to export the song to midi files (*.mid extension) with three tracks: melody, chords and bass. You have the later ability to import them to each midi sequencer or style arranger you want and build a fully featured new tune.
