Review and how it works
by SoftSpecialist
Z-Anaglyph is a program able to generate red-blue composite photos for getting the special 3D viewing effect.
The anaglyph is obtained from two separate photos, one taken from the left and one from the right, and you only need a pair of glasses specially designed for this.
You can not only obtain color 3d photos, but also with grey levels - the traditional approach of anaglyphs.
To output a color composite photo, it operates with the red channel to encode the information from the left image while the blue and green channel will be used encode the info from the right image.
After you generate the anaglyphs, you have the ability to conveniently view the result on the screen. To obtain a 3D effect, they should be viewed through an inexpensive pair of red-blue glasses.
For later delighting, it is possible to save to the disk the output in either Jpeg or Tiff format, or even to print these photos out on paper.
The pros Once you are accustomed to the technique, it can output really spectacular results with very little effort, equipment and even skills.
The cons Although it is possible to succeed in making your own 3D masterpiece from the first try, it usually requires to pay enough attention to how the two photos are taken, especially to the position of the camera and the angle between the two shots. Well, that's not quite a weak point of the program but rather of the technique. To overcome this drawback and for guaranteed results, I would recommend using two identical cameras tied together and that will not be a problem anymore.
How to install & uninstall Z-Anaglyph - system requirements To work properly ZAnaglyph necessitates a graphic card having at least 800x600x16 bits (65536 colors).
You will need to wear special 3D glasses in order to view the three-dimensional effect.
